I was born 1958 in Seefeld / Oberalting in the south of Germany. After my schooling I took a apprenticeship as a wood carver and wood sculptor in the OberammergauerWoodSculptingSchool from 1974 until 1977. With the Sculptor Heinrich Glas as a teacher we learned to shape life size animal and humans in clay then make castings in plaster of Paris and translate our creations into model carvings or monumental Wood Sculptures.
The following fall semester of 1977 I enrolled into the Akademie of Fine Arts in Munich. For six semesters I studied with Professor Hans Ladner. My interest and competence in the anatomic human body studies flourished under his program.
In the spring of year 1980, I Immigrated to the West Coast of Canada and became a Canadian citizen 1986. With my Family I live there as a self-employed Artist on Cortes IslandBC. Canada.
I teach sculpting, carving and three dimensional drawing in local school and learning centers in and throughout BC. Also I participate in Group and Solo Exhibits in Canada and in National and International Wood Sculpting Symposiums.
